Ep. 89 Why is no one responding to my posts?

with Lani Jackson

What if my audience is not responding to me when I post in those Facebook groups? Or what if there is crickets when I’m posting on social media? What do I do? What then?

I thought I was doing the right thing. I’m showing up, but there’s no response. I’ve been there and I’ve done that, and I’ve talked to my clients. We understand, and I know you’ve been there, and maybe you’re there right now, or maybe you’re like, I used to get responses and I used to have people talking to me.

There are going to be several reasons and possible explanations of why you’re not getting responses to your post or no engagement, all of that.

Let’s talk about it.

“You need to make sure that your posts are relevant to the group’s topic and interest.

If your content isn’t aligned with the entire group and the community and the people in there, or it feels like over self-promotion, people aren’t gonna engage with it.

That’s just the truth. “

Listen as Lani shares:

What do you do when no one is responding to your social media posts?

There are 6 Key Points of Focus:

#1 Lack of Relevance

  • Are your post relevant to the group’s topic?
  • Is it relevant to your group’s interest?
  • Is it overly self – promoting?
  • Are you providing value?
  • Is what you are posting resonating with your audience?
    • Judge your audience
    • Dive in and post to that audience
  • Look at the conversations already going on in the group
    • Are your posts a continuation of those conversations?
    • Or are you talking about ‘cats’ in a ‘dog’ group?

#2 Consider the Time of Your Posts

  • Go into the analytics of your groups
    • When is your audience active?
    • Are you posting at noon but your group is active at 10am?
      • You may be missing an opportunity for visibility
      • Posts get buried
    • If your timing is off – Schedule your posts for the right time

  • Evaluate the quality of your posts
    • Are they well-written?

        • Bold
  • Is your content
    • Funny?
    • Relatable?
    • Real life story telling?
    • Eye catching?
    • Controversial?
    • Does it give them a reason to click that ‘more’ button?

#4 Are You Engaging in the Group?

  • If you want responses to your posts you have to
    • Respond to others posts
