Ep. 67 How to Make Your First 1k Without Fear

with Allison Nelson

Hey BRILLIANT mamas!

Are you in the early stages of business and not sure how to make your first $1,000? Or maybe you’ve made several thousand, but you’re not entirely sure what you did to create that income. Do you have a clear plan of action to be able to make that money again and again? Today we’re chatting with Allison Nelson about the building blocks we need to have in place in order to make our first $1,000, and then to multiply it!

"We don't have to have a rags to riches story. We don't have to have something amazing happened to us in order to feel to be relatable and to share it.
People don't care about a hospital stay nearly as much as they care about the fact that I cried when my daughter went to her first day of first grade. Because that's more relatable! People want relatable. People want the normal."

Discussed in this Episode...

Where to start to make your first $1,000 in business?

You need an offer! This does not have to stay your primary offer, or be the most favorite thing you’ve ever done, but it does have to be something that you really believe in and that has clear results! You want to know exactly what you’re offering and the transformation that you’re providing; because the transformation is what you’re writing your marketing content about.

What results will your offer provide? You need to write the marketing for the person who’s looking for those results! Your offer opens up a lot of doors and sets the foundation that you need in place for your business to scale!

How do we overcome the fear that we're unqualified?

That a fear that comes up a lot! Just to explain why it’s happening; we like to diminish what we’re capable of because it keeps us safe. Unfortunately though, we are sabotaging ourselves in order to stay in the safe zone that we already know.

When Allison started her business, she was the poster child for fear of success. After working through it, she can easily spot that same fear in other entrepreneurs. We think we can’t ask people to pay for our offer and we think we’re being selfless, when actually we’re being selfish! The super harsh truth is that you’re not really helping anybody out by doing this; you’re really just protecting yourself. Most of the time, in order for people to get a transformation, they need to have some skin in the game! Allow them to experience that transformation, and be motivated to take action, by purchasing your offer and putting that value behind it.

So how can we create confidence and new evidence?

We have to be able to take action! It may just be baby steps, (especially for us moms), but we need to take a step.

You can’t be afraid of taking messy action and going into your day asking yourself “how can I help someone today?” Maybe that’s the baby step. How can you get curious about helping someone and creating a solution? Maybe you can write a piece of content about that. Maybe you can go into a Facebook group and look for somebody who is already struggling with something and share your offer with them. Confidence it built by doing and then seeing results.
